1. A customer wants to display a CMS block on the category pages. What would be the most efficient way to implement this?

The category display settings has the functionality to display a static block within it. Assuming you already have your block created, you can navigate to your category page

Catalog -> Categories -> Manage Categories select your category and go to its Display Settings tab. From there, change the display mode to Static block and products and select your CMS block.

2. Given a merchant’s need to have a Magento Enterprise Edition deployment certified against PCI standards, what payment method(s) would you recommend as the easiest technical solution to satisfy PCI requirements?

Magento Enterprise includes the Secure Payment Bridge module which will allow for the payments made through your store to be PCI compliant. Any time a code change is made to a platform, it needs to be recertified for PCI compliance – carving out the payment processing functionality allows for ease of modifying store functionality wile maintaining security.

Magento Secure Payment Bridge is a PA-DSS certified payment application that helps merchants meet PCI compliance. Magento Secure Payment Bridge is included with a subscription to Magento Enterprise Edition, and is installed separately. Magento Secure Payment Bridge is a perfect way to keep all customer-to-merchant information interchange working via a separate PA-DSS compliant application, eliminating the need to make your Magento installation itself PA-DSS compliant. This enables you to make updates with new marketing, merchandising and content management features to the core Magento eCommerce application without having to go through PCI compliance reassessment of the entire Magento eCommerce platform.

All sensitive credit card data that is received from customers during the checkout process is put into the token in Magento Secure Payment Bridge and is stored there, encrypted, until the payment system returns the successful result of a payment transaction. After the transaction is completed, the payment data within Magento Secure Payment Bridge is cleaned from the token, which remains in the database during a specific period of time. With Magento Payment Bridge, no sensitive credit card data is passed over or stored in Magento, which guarantees the security of customers’ credit card data.

3. A customer wants the ability to preview product information pages in the production environment before making them live. What Magento Enterprise Edition module would you recommend to satisfy this need?

The Content Staging Websites feature was built for this purpose. To see it in action under Enterprise Edition, ensure the Enterprise_Staging module is enabled in

System -> Configuration -> Advanced Then check the Staging Websites settings under
System -> Configuration -> General -> General under the Staging Websites Accordion.
Then navigate to System -> Content Staging -> Staging Websites to create your new staging site.

You can reference the manual on everything you can do with the staging site and the best practices for rolling back or merging changes.

4. A merchant uses a Magento system, along with other online interfaces, as part of a multi-channel business, and the merchant uses a business intelligence application to aggregate data from all these systems. What native features would allow the merchant to integrate Magento with this application?

If the BI application is capable of gathering data from web services, Magento makes SOAP and REST services available. Magento’s Export and Dataflow features are also a possiblity, but they do not allow for the export of carts or sales – only Product and Customer entities.
